It is the most important beach in the city of Manta and the most visited by regional, national and foreign tourists, who prefer it all year round and especially during carnival times. In general, it is a quiet and welcoming beach for the swimmer, but the proper precautions and recommendations must be taken on days of water or currents, for which the civil defense warns the public with colored flags.

It is an open beach, with consistent waves and a constant breeze, which makes it a good destination for kite-surfing.
